Private lessons in Ayurveda

 

Dr. Lakshmi C. Mishra offers private lessons in Ayurveda to licensed health care practitioners and to general public on health maintenance, wellness and health problems.

 

                Private lessons for licensed health care practitioners                                       

 

Private lessons include the following subjects:

1. Ayurveda concepts and principles based on Charak and Sushrut Samhitas 

2. Ayurvedic herbals

3. Ayurvedic pharmacy, Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia and Formulary of India

4. Pharmacology of Ayurveda

5. Pharmacology of minerals and formulas

6. Ayurveda anatomy and physiology,

7. Physical and mental constitutions,

8. Imbalance of doshas and gunas

9. Ayurvedic diseases etiology, pathogenesis, and treatment. 

10. Women’s health and diseases

11. Ayurvedic psychiatric diseases

12. Pediatrics and geriatrics

 

The level of course work considered adequate to practice ayurvedic medicine is 2,000 hours of training for MDs and ODs,  2500 hours for other health care practitioners and 3300 hours for students with college degree in science with course work in biology, chemistry and physics. The cost of the complete course work is based on the number of students enrolled and determined on case by case basis.   Private lessons in general are charged $200.00/hour.

Private lessons are organized according to personal need to help understand  individual health problem, improve and maintain good health and determination of physical and mental body constitution based on Doshas and Gunas.   Dr. Mishra complies with the Maryland Medical Practice law.   He does not diagnose, treat, prevent or cure illnesses and diseases.   The lessons are charged $100/hour.

 

          Lectures Seminars and Workshops

 

Dr. Mishra also offers lectures, seminars and workshops on Ayurveda to alternative health care groups. The charges are $1200/day for most groups in Maryland. Additional Fees for out of state groups are dependent on transportation and lodging.
